Silva Bozian – maezen

Before we get into your work, can you just tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Silva. I’m a Syrian-Moldovan artist based in Germany.
I spend most of my time drawing and painting.
Outside the studio, I enjoy music, poetry, and long walks with my dog.

We are curious about your past and your style. When did you get started with art, what are your preferred topics and how would you describe your style?

I started drawing as a child. At first, I painted landscapes and still life. As I got older, I began looking for my own way of expressing myself.
Over time, I kept coming back to lines and faces. The line is usually where my work begins. I work in a intuitive way and guide the process. Sometimes the work is very minimal, focusing on one face, and other times it grows into multiple faces and layered forms.

To be part of our project, we asked each artist to address certain topics in their designs that we should all think about more often. Can you briefly explain what your designs are about and what message you want to convey with your designs for maezen.

My designs are about slowing down and reconnecting with yourself. Life moves fast, and we often forget to be present.

Last question, is there one thing which is important to you that you would like to share with our community?

Something that is important to me is protecting your inner peace while still allowing yourself to feel deeply. Being soft and sensitive is not a weakness. It’s something strong.
Stay curious, enjoy life, and take your time.
